The back is broken

After a weekend of hard work it is safe to say that we have broken the back of this project.

The appliances and base cabinets are all in place, basking in the rays of sun that shine through our new french doors.

Here is Peej, like a kid on Christmas morning, running to check out our new dishwasher. It has buttons that beep when you push them. This I did not know. Why is this an issue? Because our kid loves nothing more than buttons that beep when you push them. Here begins the endless struggle to keep Patrick from running the dishwasher nine thousand times a day.

Our stovetop has a built-in "Wok Holder" - a burner that flips over to hold a Wok at the ideal distance from the flame. We do not have wok, but I guess this means that we have to get one?

The base cabinets have been installed, just in time for the counter measuring people to come on Monday. Deadline = met. Phew! As you can see, they still make excellent play-forts.

And, finally, the two things that make me the happiest. Here I am getting a glass of fresh cold water out of our fridge water filtration system. No more running up and down stairs to get a glass of water for me! Please note that the "above fridge" cabinets are already in place.

And, last but definitely not least, here is our new dishwasher, fully operational, and covered with Patrick fingerprints after the beeping button pushing bonanza. I've also included a shot of the load of clean dishes that awaited me this morning. Do you know what this means? DO YOU? No more washing dishes in the gucky sink in the laundry room, that's what! All hail the dishwasher, and all hail Rob for hooking it up without any 'water all over the new floor' incidents!

Yay Kate!!

So Fingerprint comment.... Method makes these great stainless steel wipes, since stainless scratches like an SOB (as I found out the hard way). Anyway they make these wipes that won't scratch the surface, make it look awesome, smell nice and are environmentally friendly. Yippeee!
